Keyboard shortcuts
These ⌘ shortcuts work even while the terminal has focus — SigilTTY deliberately takes them back from the terminal’s own key bindings, so ⌘T always opens a tab instead of disappearing into the shell.
Mac menu commands

Two of these are deliberate departures worth knowing about:
- ⌘N opens a Welcome tab, not a new window. The welcome surface is where recents, agents and Quick Connect live, so “new” means “take me somewhere I can start something.” A genuinely new window is one modifier away at ⌘⇧N.
- Quick Connect is ⇧⌘K, not ⌘K. This mirrors Terminal.app’s “New Remote Connection…” shortcut. Plain ⌘K stays with the terminal itself, where it means clear screen — as your fingers expect. See Quick Connect.
In the sidebar
Section titled “In the sidebar”- Return (or double-click) runs the row’s main action: a server row always opens a new session; an agent row reattaches.
- ⌘⌫ deletes the selected servers or folders, with a confirmation. On an agent row it removes the record.
- ⌘D duplicates the selected server.
- Return in the search field connects to the first match.
In the terminal and elsewhere
Section titled “In the terminal and elsewhere”- ctrl+b q detaches from an attached agent session. This is herdr’s own binding, not SigilTTY’s — it works regardless of your herdr configuration.
- Ctrl-X pressed three or more times in a row aborts a running ZMODEM transfer — the classic lrzsz escape hatch.
- Space in the file browser previews the focused file, Finder-style.
- Esc closes a preview, and cancels edit sheets.
iPad hardware keyboards
Section titled “iPad hardware keyboards”- ⌘W closes the current tab.
- ⌘V pastes — and when the clipboard holds a file rather than text, it uploads the file straight into the session.
iPhone and iPad have no menu bar, so the Mac-only menu commands (⌘T, ⌘N, ⌘1–⌘9 and friends) don’t exist there.
