Profiles, sessions and tabs
Profiles
Section titled “Profiles”A profile is a saved server: host, port, username, authentication method, and appearance settings. Profiles can be organized in nested folders and sync between your devices via iCloud.
Sessions
Section titled “Sessions”A session is a live connection. SigilTTY has three kinds, and they are all first-class:
- Terminal session — an interactive shell (SSH, Telnet, or serial on Mac).
- File session — an SFTP browser. It does not require an open terminal.
- Tunnel session — port forwarding rules. Also independent of any terminal.
You can open a file session or tunnel session for a server without ever starting a shell.
Terminal sessions live in tabs, so several servers (or several shells on one server) sit side by side. The session list shows everything that is currently open across all kinds.
Disconnects
Section titled “Disconnects”If a connection drops, the session and its scrollback stay visible and you can reconnect explicitly — see Reconnecting.
